How is an award not really an award? When everybody wins the same kind of award eventually. This one I got for my gig wrangling repair shops for computer repair. I did a lot of innovating as far as building a provider network. What the hell did I know about building a provider network? Up until then, we mostly used two or three national providers. Ahhh, but with the help of spell check and legal and a fast radio tongue, I got the job in process. So, I think they gave me this trinket.

It's such a nice and valuable trinket, it deserves showing in a second picture. Now, I'm not ungrateful. I was happy to have this on my desk. Point being, I had this proudly on display on my desk, and pretty soon, 80% of the office had similar awards on their desks. Of course, the stainless steel card holder that I got was far more useful. Now wait.. maybe a brianfbbart. Have I had this for that long or did I get this at one of my more recent gigs. I know it wasn't from working at Dillard's department store. They were the cheapest of the cheap and wouldn't even give you something this cheap. (I even have a name tag with BOB on it because I lost mine.)   It had to come from a place I worked for more than 13 years ago. This went into my junk box as lots of crap that I've received from workplaces that comes under the heading "What did I do to earn this crap and why didn't it just go in the trash when I left?" 

...because it had my name on it. A little brass piece on the other side of the base. That's why I kept it. Do I display this proudly in my home in a place of prominence? No. Crap, I have a box full of name tags and buttons and other worthless crap that will be a future post. This should be in there with those. Who knows what this is made from? It's plastic, but heavy like flooring tile. If I had this for a kitchen counter, aside from UGLY AS HELL, at least it would last... Maybe I should bury this so future generations will know.... that .....   back in the junk box with you Carl's Jr./Hardees star.
